1. That's it! Visited my brother on the way back from NYC, then it took SEVEN HOURS to drive from South Jersey to DC. But just returned the rental car and caught the bus home. Where I will loaf for the next few days. Mission accomplished! 🛣️

3. I have checked into the final hotel of my road trip. I decided to stay in NJ tonight and get to the eastern terminus tomorrow morning. So close!

4. It's good to be back in the land of Wawa and among people with familiar Philly accents (that I am definitely falling back into). About to cross into NJ and my trip is nearing completion!

5. Mileage-wise, I didn't go very far today. Emotionally, it was a great day. Back in my hometown, visiting my first college, eating vegan pizza. Everything was familiar, yet not. The hotel upgraded me to a king suite, complete with whirlpool tub. A birthday relax is imminent.

16. After leaving my friend's house in Chicago, I made it to Matteson last night 🫠 This is now the third car I'm on, but the folks at Budget Midway were so super helpful and reassuring, and I appreciate all their help.

17. Last night I was only an hour away from my friend's house but the fog in the Chicago area was SO THICK that I had to stop overnight. In some places, I couldn't even see the front of the car!

25. After missing the Pony Express, I'd planned on making it to Omaha tonight, but I visited the kearneyclassics car collection and spent a couple hours marveling at cars! Totally worth it. A++ would visit again
